Submitted by Q-A from clee on Mon, 09/05/2016 - 21:05

The top of my right breast is painful whenever I use my right arm. Ive had BA 2 months ago, under the muscles. My breast seem to Have dropped nicely but I can feel a hard spot on my muscle/ top of my breast. Whenever I lift something, open soirs etc its painful. Should I worry? Ive only started to sleep on my side few days ago. Also I Have upper pole fulness, can it still Go down after 2 months?

A: Your are still very early with spontaneous improvements still expected

Thank you for your photos and questions. The symptoms you describe are very common 2 months after submuscular breast augmentation. The breasts will continue to soften and the upper pole fullness improve. Be patient as these final changes may take another 4-6 months. Keep your surgeon posted on your concerns.

Q: Constant scaly, dry nipples 3 months post BA?

Hi, I had breast augmentation 3 months ago in Thailand and everything went smoothly. However for the past month and a bit my nipples won't stop peeling and are constantly dry. I've tried baby lotion, oil, paw paw and lanolin but nothing seems to work. Is this normal? And when will it go a way? a month and a half now is quite long

A: Worthwhile to have a proper medical opinion to eliminate assumptions

Thank you for your photo and question. The image provided does not suggest anything unusual. However, I recommend you have a proper medical opinion with a reputable doctor in your home location. A proper history and physical examination is wise considering you had your surgery abroad and more details about your personal medical history and details of the surgical procedure should be reviewed.

Q: I want to know if it's normal to feel extreme soreness 3 weeks post op and when I should expect it to go away?

Submitted by Q-A from clee on Mon, 09/05/2016 - 19:11

It's been three weeks since my breast augmentation procedure. I am worried that there is something wrong with my right implant because the inner part of my right breast feels very sore when I massage it and when I take deep breaths my right boob hurts. Also, right breast is very painful when I squeeze them together. My doctor 2 weeks post op said the right breast hurt more because I use my right hand more often then my left. My left breast doesn't hurt at all.

A: Submuscular breast augmentation can have extended periods of soreness

Submuscular breast augmentation necessitates division of the pectoral muscle along the inner lower portion of the each breast. This is often associated with post operative pain that varies in each patient and often differs even with right versus left breast. Most plastic surgeons manage symptomatic patients with regular examinations. In the absence of other findings symptoms usually subside spontaneously 3-6 weeks after surgery.

Q: Is This Weird Shape to my Implants Normal?

Submitted by Q-A from clee on Sun, 06/12/2011 - 21:44

Clearly the implants are too big for me so I'm wondering if the implant has a weird shape because it is too big to fit me properly or if it's because of something else. Should I have my doctor look at it or is this pretty normal? And when I squeeze them together they have this indentation on the inside where my cleavage is. Thank you, I appreciate all your help.

Q: Are my Nipples Still Too Low or Implants Still a Little High? or All Ok?

Submitted by Q-A from clee on Sun, 06/12/2011 - 21:38

A: If you are 3-6 months post-op it is best to get checked by your surgeon

Depending on when your surgery took place you may need revision. If you are 3-6 months post-op it is best to get checked by your surgeon as the implants should have settled in their final position by now. The placement of the implants also affects the “settling time.” If the implants were placed underneath the muscle it will take more time for the implants to settle than if the implants were placed over the muscle. You may also want to consider a mastopexy (or breast lift) to shape the breast and change the position of the nipple to a more desired look. Consult your surgeon.

Q: Palpable Implants in a Thin Woman - Problem or Normal?

Submitted by Q-A from clee on Fri, 05/13/2011 - 12:21

12 days post BA - 250cc silicone unders.Today I can feel implants under the bottom of both breasts; the right I can see protruding along the suture line (sulture line is clean). Can actually palpitate the edge of the left breast at the corner near clevage. Is this normal? My PS is a 90 min international flight away and I won't see him until next Thursday. I have been wearing the strap 24/7 but will this make it better or worse? Does this affect wearing a bra?

A: Looks fine.

Your photos show the implants in good position and nothing that you describe is alarming. Just continue with what you are already doing.

Q: Are Gurgling and Swishing Common in Silicone Implants at High Altitudes?

Submitted by Q-A from clee on Fri, 05/13/2011 - 08:50

10 months ago, I had breast augmentation (silicone). Now, each time I travel to Lake Tahoe, the high altitude seems to have an effect on them. I hear a gurgle and swishing sound. I have found that if I massage them, this usually goes away.

Nevertheless, I am concerned. Doing a google search, I came across a woman on this site with a similar experience, but the doctors seemed to be unaware of these effects. Are there any doctors who have heard of this and should I see my doctor about it?

A: Not common to have this with silicone

Regardless of altitude it is not common to find gurgling and swishing feeling with silicone implants as the viscosity of these are similar to tissue.  Perhaps you should see your surgeon for reassurance.

Q: Is it Normal at This Stage to Feel my Breast Implants Moving Inside of Me?

Submitted by Q-A from clee on Fri, 05/13/2011 - 07:41

I am 17 days out BA Surgery Texture Silicone Cohesive gel implants w/submuscular incision. In my right breast I can feel my breast implant moving seems like a downward position. I am not in pain could it be my muscles or body fluid and not the implant it feels weird I can say that my breast look my great.

My left breast is a bit softer than my right and looks as if the swelling has minimized but my left implant is stl firm what does that mean?I  hear about the implant has to settle are those sign of settling?

A: Feeling of implant movement is not a sign of its movement

The "feeling" of implant movement is not an actual sign of movement. Most textured implants are adherent to the pocket wall soon after surgery. This may occur by 5-10 days after surgery. Real movement of a textured implant weeks after surgery would be a significant concern because of the associated risks of fluid collection around the implant. It might be wise to revisit your surgeon to have some reassurance.
